The 2017 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarConf’17) will be held from May 8-12, 2017 at the Westin Seattle in Seattle, Washington, USA.

The IEEE AES Society Radar Summer School will be held in conjunction with the 2017 IEEE RadarConf ’17 at the Conference Venue (Westin Seattle) on 6-7 May, 2017.

The purpose of Radar Summer School is to present a variety of radar topics at the basic level (university upper class undergraduate, Masters or early PhD), to give a conceptual understanding of key radar concepts.  Planned Summer School topics: Introduction to Radar, Radar Waveforms, Detection and Estimation, Radar Target Tracking, GMTI & STAP, Radar Imaging, Automatic/Non-cooperative Target Recognition, Radar Systems, Radar Networks and Optimization for Radar.  Classes will be taught by some of the world’s leading researchers.   

The registration fee for students is $35.  This money covers both days of instruction, course materials, and light refreshments. Students are responsible for their own hotel and daily meal arrangements and associated costs. Conference attendance is not required to attend the Summer School.  The Summer School tuition does not cover conference attendance.  Attendance will be limited to the first 50 people who register (28 have already signed up).  We look forward to seeing you – please spread the word!   Be sure to email Mike Picciolo at [email protected] today with questions and/or to reserve your spot!


The 2017 Young Professionals Reception will be held jointly with the Radar Systems School Reception on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at 6.30 pm at the Westin Seattle Hotel. The Keynote Speaker will be Joe Fabrizio presenting the: AESS Professional Networking and Mentoring Program.



Buses will be provided for a Boeing factory tour.  Tickets must be purchased by the individual.  See conference website for details.
