Joseph Friel is currently the manager of airborne systems engineering at Gogo Business Aviation. He is currently responsible for the system architecture and requirements management for airborne hardware and software delivered to business jets providing in-flight connectivity and entertainment. Prior to his current assignment, he spent time as a program manager at Gogo where he managed new and sustaining product developments. Before Gogo, he was a program manager at Avidyne leading programs that delivered integrated flight deck avionics and sensors to small manned aircraft. He also has spent time supporting Air Force units as a test engineer, communications engineer, and missile warning officer. His interests include systems engineering, satellite communications, cellular networks and weapons system development and employment.
