Lieutenant General Pietro FINOCCHIO- Born in Naples on 31 March 1945;- Attended the Pozzuoli Aeronautical Academy from 1963 to 1969 as a cadet;- Obtained a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic of Naples, achieved with the maximum marks possible.- Worked for the following organization within the Italian Air Force:Italian Air Force Experimental Flight Test Centre (RSV), Pratica di Mare;Costarmaereo (MOD Procurement Agency for Aeronautical Weapon Systems);Office of the Aeronautical and Defence Attaché at the Italian Embassy in Washington;Telecomdife (MOD Procurement Agency for Air Defence, Air Traffic Control,Telecommunication and Informatics).- He carries the title of Avionics System Flight Test Engineer obtained in the Experimental FlightTest Centre in 1977, carries a civil pilot’s licence and is an experienced parachutist.- He has held the following positions in the course of his career:Host Country Inspector for the NATO programme for integrated air defence (NADGE); Technical Director of Experimental Flight Test Centre (RSV) of the IAF; Director of 3rd level - Tornado Aircraft maintenance Centre;Head of EFA and AMX Logistics - within Logistic branch of Italian Air Force General Staff; Co-Chairman of the EH101 Anglo -Italian Government Management Committee and member of the EH101 Policy Group, from 1990 to 1996; Head of the Italian delegation to the Joint Executive Committee and member of the Steering Committee of the NH90 Programme, from 1992 to 1996; Director of the Technical Coordination Office of the General Directorate for Telecommunication, Air Defence and Traffic Control of Ministry of Defence, from 1996 to 1999; Chief of National Armament Directorate R&T Department from 1999 to 2001; Chairman of Western European Armament Group Panel II(R&T) and R&T Committee ofWestern European Armament Organization from 20 June 1997 to June 2001; General Manager of NAHEMA (NATO Helicopter Management Agency) from 1 august 2001 to 31 July 2004; General Manager of TELEDIFE (Italian Ministry of Defense - General Directorate of Telecommunications Information and Advanced Technologies) from September 2004 toMarch 2010;- Since January 2005 he is the President of AFCEA (Armed Force Communications Electronics Association) ROME Chapter and since September 2010 is Vice President of the Italian Institute of Navigation.- Since October 2012 he is regional Vicepresident (Mediterranean Region) of AFCEA Europe- He retired from the active duty on the 31 March 2010.- He speaks fluently English, French and Portuguese.- Lt. Gen. FINOCCHIO is married with Mrs Enrica and has a daughter, a son and four grand children.
