Robert Fonod (S’10-M'15-SM'23) is a Research Associate at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Before joining EPFL, he was a Research Scientist at the French-German Research Institute of Saint-Louis (ISL), an Assistant Professor at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. He received the Master of Computer Science (2021) degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), the Ph.D. (2014) degree in Automatic Control from the University of Bordeaux, and the M.Sc. (2011) and B.Sc. (2009) degrees in Cybernetics, both from the Technical University of Košice. As an NPI/Ph.D. Fellow, he spent several months as a Visiting Researcher at the European Space Agency (ESA) and Thales Alenia Space (TAS). Between 2010 and 2013, he was a Scholar of the elite Collegium Talentum program, with scientific tutoring provided by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Since 2018, he has been serving as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems (TAES).
