Dr. Brian Watson (BSEE University of Illinois, Ph.D. Physics University of Florida). Dr. Watson is the Chief Technology Officer for Information Systems Laboratories with over 25 years of experience. He has worked for the Navy and Air Force as an electronics engineer developing software in support of DOD programs including the Tomahawk and F-111 Weapons Systems. His Ph.D. thesis involved the study of quantum transitions in low dimensional magnetic materials to increase the performance of high temperature superconductors. During his time at the University of Florida, he also designed and built a 9-Tesla nuclear magnetic resonance system that can operate at temperatures near 1 Kelvin. At ISL, Dr. Watson has functioned as a system level designer with experience in analog RF electronics, printed circuit board design and layout, and low-noise electronics. His expertise includes electromagnetic simulation using FE/FD/MoM code as well as analytical techniques for antenna design. For the last 15 years, Dr. Watson has focused on artificial intelligence and neuromorphic computing for SIGINT and ELINT applications. He was also the PI for ONR and Darpa programs that used spiking neural networks to perform high-speed signal processing. Co-author of the book “Non-Line-Of-Sight Radar” (Artech House).
