Farzad Hessar (M’15), received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology in 2008 and the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology in 2010. He received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington in 2015, with a focus on “Spectrum Sharing in Whitespace Spectrum”. Presently, he is a Staff Systems Engineer with Qualcomm Incorporation and his research interests include 5G/NR Cellular Networks with a focus on Vehicular Communication (C-V2X). In the past, he has collaborated with various telecommunication companies and research labs such as Bell Labs, Qualcomm, and Nokia, focused on analysis and design of MIMO receivers, wireless channels, phased array systems, TV white space spectrum, coexistence between heterogeneous networks, radar spectrum sharing, etc.
