Merek Pipes is a Computer Engineering major and Economics Minor at Union College in the class of 2023. At Union College, he has maintained a 3.98 GPA with involvement in NCAA division 1 ice hockey, volunteer work, work-study, and the IEEE club. He has achieved several honors, including the Thomas Van Arden Dukehart award, ACHA All-American Scholar, and ECAC All-Academic Team. Under Prof. Chandra Pappu's mentorship and with Dr. Thomas Carroll's help, he has studied the use of chaotic waveforms for joint bistatic radar-communication devices. He hopes this work will positively impact the communications and radar field and further the research into practical applications. He envisions continuing this research work through graduate studies.
