Omar Garcia Crespillo is currently the leader of the Integrated Navigation Systems group at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. He received the Ph.D. degree in Robotics, Control and Intelligent Systems from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EFPL), Switzerland, and the M.Sc. (Ing.) in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Malaga, Spain. His research focus are on GNSS, inertial sensors, integrated navigation systems and integrity monitoring for safe ground and air transportation systems. In particular focus on civil aviation, UAVs and railway transportation.
He was the recipient of the SESAR Young Scientist Award (PhD category) in 2022. He is a senior member of the IEEE and serves as member of the Avionics System Panel (ASP) and the Navigation System Panel (NSP) of the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society.
