IEEE Journal of Lightwave Technology Celebrates 40th Anniversary

The Journal of Lightwave Technology (JLT) held a celebration luncheon for its 40th Anniversary during the Optical Fiber Communications (OFC) Conference held at the San Diego Convention Center, 7-9 March 2023.

Guest speakers included the current EiC Gabriella Bosco and founding EiC Dr. Tom Giallorenzi, who started the journal in 1983. His goal was to consolidate lightwave research papers from multiple disparate IEEE transactions into a single source He spoke about the trepidation of getting buy-in from the IEEE Technical Activities Board.
