Event Date: 3 January 2023

Event Format: In-Person Presentation

Event Summary:
The IEEE North Saskatchewan Section Circuits and Systems / Signal Processing / Communications Joint Chapter welcomed Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) Distinguished Lecturer Dr. Karen Haigh to Saskatoon for a presentation on Cognitive Electronic Warfare.

Thank you to Dr. Karen Haigh for presenting on how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used in electronic warfare (EW). It was enlightening to learn about the role that AI can play in helping EW systems respond more quickly and effectively to complex and novel emitters. We learned about the AI techniques of situation assessment, decision-making, and machine learning and how they can function in an EW system. It was also interesting to hear about the importance of real-time in-mission learning and ideas on how to implement these capabilities.

Thank you for sharing your expertise and insights from your book "Cognitive Electronic Warfare: An Artificial Intelligence Approach".
