The AESS Summer School 2.0, a captivating event aimed at unraveling the mysteries of the aerospace world, recently concluded its inaugural edition on July 15, 2023. Hosted by the IEEE AESS Esprit student branch, this six-session summer school ignited the passion of both IEEE members and non-members, offering a comprehensive dive into the fascinating realm of aerospace and its captivating technologies.

The primary objective of the summer school was to provide attendees with an immersive experience of the diverse facets of aerospace, with a particular focus on IT and electromechanical applications. Renowned experts and industry leaders came together to guide participants through a journey that spanned from the Earth's surface to the far reaches of outer space.

The event kicked off with an exploration of the diverse applications of drones, led by esteemed speaker Slim Hajji. Participants were treated to an enlightening overview of the manifold uses of drones in industries such as agriculture, surveillance, and delivery services.

The following sessions delved deeper into various aerospace technologies. Dr. Ing. Hana Aouinet, an authority in satellite technology, shared insights into the intricacies of satellites and presented international opportunities for students. This eye-opening session equipped young minds with the knowledge needed to embark on exciting careers in the field.

One of the highlights of the summer school was the inspiring success story session featuring Rania Toukebri, a trailblazer in the aerospace industry. Her journey from an aspiring student to contributing to prestigious projects with the European Space Agency (ESA) left the audience motivated and demonstrated the boundless opportunities awaiting those passionate about aerospace.

Satellite imaging and remote sensing took center stage in the fourth session led by Raef Kamel. Attendees marveled at the power of these technologies, which find applications in environmental monitoring, disaster management, and urban planning. Thameur Chebbi steered the participants on a journey with CubeSats in the fifth session. The small satellites showcased their big potential in space exploration and scientific research. Thameur expertly guided attendees through the intricacies of CubeSat missions, offering a glimpse of the exciting advancements in this domain.

The event's culmination was a session that ignited passion in space enthusiasts, led by the captivating Mr. Amir. His spellbinding presentation took the audience on a cosmic odyssey, spanning from historical milestones to the enigmatic galaxies. Mr. Amir's talk left an indelible mark on attendees, leaving them inspired and awestruck.
