Abstract

This is a newly designed lecture, mainly created upon request by a community highly interested in the Ukraine war. The objective was to provide the “big picture” on how electronic warfare, in particular electronic attack, is currently used in a theater of operation. After learning how adversaries attack radars, a brief, unclassified description of how to protect your own radar follows. Overall, this is a brief, introductory discussion on modern radar electronic attack and radar electronic protection. The intended audience is radar engineers who wish to understand how radars are attacked in the real world, thus making them aware of the issues that they need to be cognizant when designing their new radar system. While unclassified, I believe that this topic still retains some sensitivity, so I prefer to give this lecture only in person and to a pre-approved audience.
