Dietrich Fränken received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering from Ruhr-University, Bochum, Germany, in 1991 and the Dr.-Ing. degree from the University of Paderborn, Germany, in 1997. He also finished his postdoctoral lecture qualification (Dr.-Ing. habil. degree) there in 2003. Since then, he has been working for Hensoldt Sensors (former Airbus DS) in Ulm, Germany, in various national and international data fusion projects, currently as expert for multi-sensor data fusion. Simultaneously, he lectures at the University in Ulm. Research interests include modeling and simulation of physical systems, tracking and data fusion as well as digital signal processing.
