Ms. Palmer received her M.S.E, EE and B.S.E, BME degrees from Mercer University in 2007. Immediately following graduation, she worked as an RF circuit board designer for Scientific Atlanta/Cisco Systems, Inc. She started at the Georgia Tech Research Institute in 2009 as a Research Engineer I. Ms. Palmer’s primary research areas include human gait analysis, automatic target recognition, signal processing, and image processing. Through this work, she has had two invited conference presentations and over fifteen conference presentations. She was awarded GTRI’s 2013 Junior Researcher of the Year award and the Tri-Service Radar Symposium’s Best Lecture Paper award in 2012. Currently, she is a Senior Research Engineer and Branch Head of the Advanced Processing and Algorithms Branch (APAB) of the Intelligence, Surveillance, & Reconnaissance Division (ISRD) within the Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Lab (SEAL). Previously, Ms. Palmer served as a Branch Head within the Air and Missile Defense Division (AMDD) of SEAL as well as served as the Student Coordinator for the lab. Ms. Palmer is a Senior Member of IEEE. She is currently a member of the IEEE AESS Radar Systems Panel, and she served as the Atlanta Section Treasurer from 2012-2013 and Chair of the Young Professionals affinity group from 2012-2015, in addition to serving as the AESS/GRSS Secretary. In 2012, she was a member of the IEEE Radar Conference Committee fulfilling the roles of Publicity Chair and Publishing Chair, and in 2013 and 2014, she was the chair of the student ethics competition at IEEE SoutheastCon.
