Abstract

New MIMO (MULTIPLE INPUT MULTIPLE OUTPUT) Radar: Explained in simple physical terms instead of with heavy math. Covered are performance, waveforms, signal processing load, ability to handle jamming, performance re conventional radars. Where it makes sense to use: OTH, automobile radars, for combining existing radars to increased performance. It is pointed out that for some car MIMO radars configurations conventional radars having the same number of elements can perform better than MIMO radars with respect to antenna angle resolution and antenna sidelobe levels.
