To be eligible for appointment as EIC, nominees must have impeccable credentials as an author as well as a reviewer demonstrating technical excellence, thoroughness, and fairness. They must have completed one or several terms as an Associate or Senior Editor or have a strong record of equivalent experience. Nominees must be a member of the IEEE and AESS and carry a commitment of dedication and service, specifically in terms of timeliness and adherence to IEEE and AESS policies. Nominations are screened, and subsequently assessed by the AESS Vice President Publications with a small ad-hoc committee. The appointment is subject to approval by the AESS Board of Governors.

Self-nominations are permitted.
