Event Summary: Dr. Kumar Vijay Mishra, Senior Fellow at the United States DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory presented two IEEE AESS Distinguished Lectures titled "Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces for Communications and Radars" at the Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) Event Center at Pullman, Washington, USA. The event was organized by the IEEE Palouse Section on 31 July 2023. The talk focused on applications of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) to radar, wireless communications, and joint radar-communications. The lecture also included deep learning-based techniques for RIS inverse design. The talk was followed by a lively and engaging Q&A session between the audience and the speaker. The event lasted for nearly 1.5 hours. The hosts gave a tour of the SEL labs and Washington State University to the speaker.
