Evolving Cyber Systems in Avionics
Presentation Menu
Avionics systems are part of a formerly slow-changing industry and that have emerged as cyber-physical systems, in an air and space transport system context, where practical implementation is complex, multi-agent, and safety critical. Autonomy advancements technically rely on separation assurance and collision avoidance for multi-agent systems. Vision based advancements in navigation address difficult problems, with major implementation challenges. Efforts to advance traffic management for emerging systems, face important challenges particularly to involve UAS and to approach low earth orbit systems. Artificial intelligence techniques promise new solutions, particularly where autonomy of functions are needed, but are particularly challenged by the priority on certification for safety.
