Animesh Chakravarthy is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Aeronautics/Astronautics at MIT.
His expertise is in the areas of guidance and control of flight vehicles and in the macroscopic modeling and control of interconnected multi-vehicle systems.
His research has been funded by NSF, NASA, AFRL, ARO, and FAA, as well as STTR projects performed in collaboration with industry partners. He is a recipient of an NSF CAREER Award and has also been a Summer Faculty Fellow at AFRL, Eglin.
He is an Associate Fellow of the AIAA as well as a member of the U.S. National Academy of Inventors. He received a Rising Star Award from the University of Texas System in 2018. He is currently in the Board of Directors of the American Automatic Control Council.
