Mark Levedahl learned Engineering at McGill University in Montreal, and subsequently worked for over 40 years in industry, spanning tasks from concept development and proposals through systems design, development, laboratory and real-world testing, and deployment. His efforts span multiple fields including test and measurement equipment, satellites, flight control and navigation systems for aircraft and missiles, missile systems, wireless data networks, IR and radar sensor systems, distributed tracking systems, command/control systems, and computer simulations of many of the above systems. He has published a number of papers relating to tracking and data association, especially methods to improve multi-sensor fusion in the presence of sensor biases, and is the originator of a number of designs and innovations that were fielded during his career. Mark holds patents in dynamic spectrum utilization and in sensor data association in the presence of biases. He worked for Raytheon while doing the work resulting in this award and from which he retired as a Senior Engineering Fellow in 2021. Mark is now challenging himself with other pursuits.
