My name is Scott Sprindis I served this past year in the role of Undergraduate Student Representative for the IEEE AES Board of Governors. This upcoming year I will be serving as Young Professionals Representative. I currently work for the Mission Systems and Training Business Area of the federal contractor and multinational corporation Lockheed Martin. At Lockheed Martin I support the Ballistic Missile Defense capability of the Aegis System as a System Analyst. I have been in this role since May of 2015 and still have much to learn. Before, I began in this position I attended Rowan University where I received my bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I will be attending graduate school in the upcoming year to begin on the road to my first, of multiple (hopefully), masters degrees. Outside of my career I enjoy volleyball which I play year round and various other sports I play seasonally.
During the time I have to work closely with the Board of Governors of AES, I hope to spread interest in AES to members of the Engineering community that have just begun their careers. This tends to be a difficult time for engineers to stay active in professional societies as there can a great deal of flux in each individuals life. I hope to employ strategies to break this trend and overall continue to build strong and lasting bridges of communication between Experienced Engineers and Young Professionals.
