Steve Karlovic is Senior Vice President and General Manager of CDI Government Services, a division of CDI Engineering Solutions. This 700-person unit of CDI Corporation provides marine engineering and naval architecture services, logistics solutions, and acquisition support services to the United States Navy, Army and Coast Guard and their contractors.
Prior to that, he was Vice President of Business Development for EADS North America Test & Services, where he was responsible for marketing, sales and strategic planning. This unit of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space company was formerly known as Racal Instruments and is a supplier of modular instrumentation and electronic test systems for military and commercial applications worldwide.
Between 1995 and 2006, Karlovic was a Program Director at Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training & Support, in Orlando, Florida, where he managed automated test system and support equipment development programs in support of U.S. Air Force and Navy programs. Prior to that, he held progressive positions in marketing, sales, and product line management with GenRad, Inc., a commercial electronics test and measurement company headquartered in Concord, Massachusetts.
Karlovic earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics with High Honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1982, and his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University in 1986. He served as an officer in the United States Air Force at the Air Force’s Rome Laboratory where he managed research projects in automated digital test generation and high performance microelectronics test systems and methodologies.
He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and has served as Chair of its Orlando Section. He was a member of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society ADCOM and was its Vice President of Conferences during 2008 and 2009. Karlovic was General Chair of IEEE AUTOTESTCON in 2005 and 2010. He serves on the AUTOTESTCON Board of Directors as its Vice Chair. He has been active in the National Defense Industries Association Automated Testing Committee since 2001 and served as Vice Chair between 2005-2010.
Karlovic is married to Tami L. Caesar, and has two sons, ages 19 and 24 and a stepdaughter, 16. He and his wife enjoy cycling and tennis.
