Yaashica Sakthivel is an enthusiastic and dedicated electronics and communication engineer with a strong passion for space, satellite systems, and communication technologies. Her journey into this field began with a spark of curiosity, which soon turned into a deep commitment to using engineering to solve real-world challenges and contribute to meaningful innovation.

One of her early accomplishments was developing a project titled "Hydro-Electric Generation Using Rainwater Flow" which was selected and awarded at the prestigious National Level Science Exhibition conducted by GMRT NCRA-TIFR. This milestone served as the foundation for her growing interest in sustainable and practical technological solutions.

Yaashica has also played an essential role in national competitions such as the IN-SPACe (Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre) CanSat program, where she contributes to designing antennas for satellite simulations ensuring effective data communication and reliability in aerospace environments. Her interest in space technology is not limited to academics; she actively explores developments in satellite systems, orbital debris challenges, and the future of interplanetary communication.

As the Vice Chair of the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) in her institution, Yaashica has taken up the responsibility of revitalizing the society’s presence. She has successfully organized multiple workshops, technical events, and outreach programs that inspired participation and curiosity among her peers. Her leadership has significantly improved the visibility and activity of the society within the student community.

Her team was recently recognized as one of the top 30 out of over 6,000 at the ITU WTSA Hackathon 2024, where they presented an AI-based solution to enhance network maintenance and reliability in future communication systems. This experience sharpened her ability to combine technical expertise with purpose driven problem-solving.

Yaashica’s core interests include antenna design, AI-integrated communication systems, satellite communication, and space exploration. She is particularly passionate about exploring the unknowns of space and hopes to be part of innovative solutions that make space technology more accessible and sustainable.

With a mindset rooted in curiosity, a spirit of leadership, and a love for exploration, Yaashica continues to grow as an engineer committed to shaping the future of technology and innovation.
