Dr. Zhenbo Wang received his B.E. degree in Detection, Guidance, and Control Technology from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2010 and his M.E. degree in Control Engineering from Beihang University in 2013. In 2018, he received his Ph.D. degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Purdue University and joined the University of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK) as an Assistant Professor. He is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and directing the Autonomous Systems Laboratory at UTK.
He is a recipient of the 2023 NSF Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) Award, the 2023 Louis and Ann Hoffman Endowed Excellence in Research Award, and the 2024 Professional Promise in Research Award. His research interests are control, optimization, and machine learning for various engineering applications including space systems, air vehicles, connected and automated vehicles, and power and energy systems.
