His current research interests include inertial-based navigation system, state estimation, inertial-visual fusion and wearable human motion sensing. He has made substantial contributions to the fields of inertial and visual navigation, including the "zero-error" inertial navigation computation, optimization-based in-motion INS attitude alignment, INS global observability analysis, INS/odometer self-calibration, and pose-only visual geometry and algorithms. He has published over fifty papers in top-tier journals as the leading/corresponding author and selected to be Elsevier’s Most Cited Chinese Researchers (2015-2020) and Stanford University- Elsevier Top 2% Scientist Rankings (2019-). He serves in the Program Committee of DGON-ISS (2019-), Saint Petersburg ICINS (2021-) and as an Associate Editor for IEEE Trans. on Aerospace and Electronic Systems (2016-). He is Senior Member of the IEEE (2014-) and IEEE AESS Distinguished Lecturer (2020-2024).
