AESS 2026 Officers Strategic Planning Meeting
Officers from the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) gathered in Cairo, Egypt from February 2–3, 2026 for the Society’s annual Strategic Planning Meeting. The two-day session brought together AESS Officers to reflect on the Society’s current trajectory and align on priorities for the coming years.
During the meeting, each Vice President presented updates on their portfolios, reviewing both short-term objectives and long-term strategic goals. These discussions provided an opportunity to assess ongoing initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that activities across the Society remain aligned with AESS’s broader mission to advance aerospace and electronic systems technologies and support its global community of members.
Beyond individual reports, the group engaged in collaborative conversations focused on the future direction of the Society. Officers discussed emerging opportunities for growth, including strengthening member engagement, expanding technical activities, and enhancing the visibility and impact of AESS programs worldwide.
Hosting the meeting in Cairo also highlighted the Society’s international reach and commitment to engaging members and partners across regions. By bringing together leadership from around the world, the Strategic Planning Meeting fostered meaningful dialogue and shared vision as AESS continues to evolve and serve the aerospace and electronic systems community.
