Amman Arab University - Jordan Hosts AESS Fixed-Wing UAV Manufacturing Workshop
The Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) Student Chapter at Amman Arab University successfully concluded a hands-on workshop on building fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Led by Mohamad Mufid Abu Amsha, Nawras Bin Tareef, and Ahmad Yu, the event trained over 40 Aviation Science students, bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world engineering applications.
As a tangible outcome, participants successfully manufactured six fully functional fixed-wing UAVs. Students applied practical skills including electronic wiring, soldering components, installing controllers, structural assembly, and conducting motor and flight testing. The event concluded with a ceremony attended by Prof. Dr. Malek Al-Anqareh (Dean of Aviation Sciences) and Dr. Mousa Al-Akhras (IEEE Jordan Section Chair), who praised the high-quality outcomes and the importance of such volunteer-based technical initiatives in preparing students for the job market.
