The IEEE Jordan Section Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society Chapter was formally established through an inaugural meeting that brought together key stakeholders to initiate the chapter’s activities and define its strategic direction. The meeting was held in Amman on Sunday, September 21, at 5:00 PM, and served as a foundational platform for coordination, planning, and leadership alignment.

During the meeting, participants engaged in constructive discussions focused on the chapter’s prospective annual plan. The dialogue addressed priority technical areas, educational initiatives, outreach activities, and collaboration opportunities aimed at advancing aerospace and electronic systems within Jordan. This strategic exchange laid the groundwork for a structured and sustainable roadmap aligned with the mission and objectives of IEEE AESS.

A key outcome of the meeting was the nomination of the Executive Committee to lead the chapter during its initial phase. The proposed nominations reflected a balanced combination of academic expertise, professional experience, and organizational capability. The nominated Executive Committee members were Dr. Ola Al-Taani as Chairperson, Prof. Majid Al-Duweiri as Vice Chair, Hassan Abu Sarris as Secretary, Dr. Karam Ighnaim as Treasurer, and Mohammad Abu Amsha as Student Chapter Representative.

The formation of the Executive Committee marked an important milestone in establishing effective governance and leadership continuity for the chapter. The meeting successfully fostered a shared vision among members and set a strong foundation for future technical, educational, and community-driven initiatives under the IEEE AESS framework.

Through this inaugural gathering, the IEEE AESS Jordan Section Chapter demonstrated a clear commitment to structured governance, strategic planning, and collaborative leadership, positioning the chapter for impactful contributions to the aerospace and electronic systems community at both the national and regional levels.
