Can you tell us a little about yourself and your academic journey so far?

Hello, my name is Oluleti Victor Pelumi, and I hail from Osun State. I'm a final-year student of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University. With a strong passion for control systems engineering, I've actively sought out opportunities to apply theoretical concepts to real-world problems. Notably, my final year project involves designing a PLC and SCADA-based three-tank system for my department's control laboratory, aiming to enhance students' understanding of control theories and technologies. My long-term aspirations include contributing to innovative projects at NASA and Boston Dynamics, where I hope to push the boundaries of technological advancements. I'm eager to continue learning and growing in my field, driving progress and excellence.

What inspired you to pursue your field of study?

It all began with a desire to solve problems, which is the premise of Engineering. The power of technology in transforming our lives. What's even more captivating is the ability to design innovative solutions that automate systems and processes. The prospect of contributing to groundbreaking technologies in robotics, aerospace, and related fields fuels my enthusiasm for Control Systems Engineering.

How did you hear about this scholarship, and what made you decide to apply?

I discovered the IEEE AESS scholarship through our department's IEEE student branch. My passion for control and electronic systems engineering drew me to this opportunity, as it aligns perfectly with my career aspirations. The scholarship's focus on supporting students in this field resonated deeply with me. I applied because I saw it as a chance to not only receive financial support but also gain access to a valuable network of mentors and professionals in my field, which will undoubtedly enhance my academic and professional growth.

What does winning this scholarship mean to you?

Winning the IEEE AESS scholarship means a great deal to me. It represents a significant validation of my hard work, dedication, and passion for control and electronic systems engineering. This scholarship not only provided me with financial support to pursue my academic goals but also served as a motivation to continue striving for excellence in my field. Moreover, being recognized by a prestigious organization like IEEE will open doors to new opportunities, connect me with a network of professionals and mentors, and empower me to make a meaningful impact in the aerospace and electronic systems community.

How do you think this scholarship will help you achieve your academic and career goals?

This scholarship will be a catalyst for my academic and career success, providing financial support, networking opportunities, and access to mentorship. It will empower me to focus on my research, accelerate my career trajectory, and make a meaningful impact in control systems engineering.

What are your academic goals during your scholarship period?

During my scholarship period, I aim to achieve several academic goals that will propel me towards success in my field. I am committed to completing my undergraduate degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering with a strong focus on control systems engineering, while maintaining a First Class academic record. In addition to my coursework, I am working on research projects with the goal of publishing papers in reputable journals and conferences, contributing to the advancement of the field. I also plan to participate in various internships and workshops to gain practical industry experience and apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings.

Where do you see yourself after completing your education?

Education is a lifelong journey, and I embrace the opportunity to continually learn and grow. I plan to pursue further studies in control systems engineering, empowering me to become a leading expert in my field. I envision myself collaborating with renowned organizations to push the boundaries of technology in my field and drive innovation in aerospace and robotics.
