The IEEE Aerospace & Electronic Systems Society (AESS) convened its Fall 2025 Board of Governors (BoG) meeting during 2025 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarConf’25), held in historic Kraków, Poland. The gathering brought together Society officers, governors, and chapter representatives alongside global radar and electronic systems researchers attending the conference at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre.

Over the course of the meeting, participants reviewed recent activities and successes across the Society, including the strong technical program and community engagement at RadarConf’25. Officers and governors discussed strategic priorities for 2026, laying out plans to expand member services, enhance educational initiatives, and strengthen collaboration across IEEE societies. As part of these efforts, a new slate of officers for 2026 was elected, signaling a refreshed leadership team ready to guide AESS in its next phase.

The location in Kraków offered more than just a venue. The conference’s blend of radar focused technical sessions, tutorials, and the vibrant cultural backdrop of the city provided a unique atmosphere for meaningful dialogue and networking. Many BoG attendees also participated in simultaneously scheduled conference events, reinforcing the close relationship between AESS governance and the broader radar research community.

Looking forward, the BoG reaffirmed its commitment to supporting cross disciplinary radar and aerospace research, expanding global engagement, and providing robust support for students, early career professionals, and member chapters worldwide. The successful Fall meeting in Kraków, embedded within a major international radar conference, underscored AESS’s dedication to connecting leadership decisions with on the ground technical innovation and community building.
