The IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) chapter at Amman Arab University successfully organized and delivered a comprehensive, multi-week hardware training program titled “Electronics Applications: Theory to Practice.” Designed to bridge the gap between classroom instruction and real-world engineering applications, the series provided students with hands-on experience in electronics, circuit design, and embedded systems.

Recognizing that many engineering students have limited opportunities to work directly with hardware, the chapter developed the program to transform theoretical concepts into practical skills. Participants were equipped with physical electronic components and guided through the process of building, testing, and troubleshooting circuits in a structured learning environment.

The workshop series ran from April 5 through April 22 and was carefully organized into five progressive sessions. Beginning with the fundamental principles of electricity and electronic circuits, the curriculum gradually advanced to more sophisticated topics, culminating in the development of embedded systems using Arduino microcontrollers.

A key feature of the program was its emphasis on experiential learning. Each theoretical lesson was immediately reinforced through a corresponding laboratory activity, allowing students to apply newly acquired knowledge in real time. This approach created an engaging and interactive educational experience while helping participants develop confidence in their technical abilities.

Throughout the series, students gained valuable experience working with electronic components, circuit analysis, sensor integration, and microcontroller programming. By progressing from foundational concepts to advanced applications, participants developed a deeper understanding of how modern electronic systems are designed and implemented.

The success of “Electronics Applications: Theory to Practice” reflects the Amman Arab University AESS Chapter’s commitment to preparing students for future careers in engineering by providing opportunities that extend beyond traditional coursework. Through hands-on training and practical problem-solving, the program helped equip participants with the skills and experience needed to meet the demands of industry and innovation.
