Term
Unlimited term, appointed by the President with Board of Governors concurrence, serves until a successor is appointed by the President with Board of Governors concurrence. (Note, the IEEE recommends replacing after six consecutive terms.)

IEEE and AESS Member. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Financial Transfers: Serve as custodian and disbursement authority for Society funds. Review and approve invoices, expenses, and financial transfers to conferences, OUs, and chapters and send to IEEE (supported by the AESS Operations Manager upon request). Arrange payment of authorized invoices and reimbursements in compliance with IEEE policy.
  • Volunteer Expense Reimbursement: Review and approve expenses in Concur. Communicate with volunteers regarding issues and information related to Concur submissions to ensure compliance and prompt reimbursements.
  • Maintain financial records for the Board of Governors. Track financial requests and transfers.
  • Provide periodic financial reports to the Board of Governors on the Society's financial status.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President Finance to compile financial data on the Society's health and present it to the Board of Governors at each meeting.
  • Act as a consultant to conference Treasurers, reviewing budgets for Society-related conferences and providing recommendations as needed.

Travel
Minimum 3 times per year
Travel expenses are reimbursed per the IEEE Expense Guidelines.

  • January/February: Strategic Planning Meeting with Officers
  • ~May: Spring Board of Governors Meeting
  • ~September-November: Fall Board of Governors Meeting
  • Additional travel may be requested by the AESS President or for participation in various IEEE appointments and committees, typically held in conjunction with the IEEE Meeting Series held in February, June, and November annually
  • Attend the IEEE Treasures Workshop in Piscataway, NJ at the IEEE Headquarters typically held around April annually.
