Since 2021, the IEEE AESS Glue Technologies for Space Systems Technical Panel has hosted the annual Summer School on “Frontier Technologies for Space 2.0 Communications.” This accessible and global event has grown in reach and impact each year. In 2025, for the first time, the School will be held in a hybrid format with both in-person sessions at the Italian Space Agency (ASI) headquarters in Rome and online participation via Zoom.

This year’s program includes:

  • 30 hours of expert-led lectures

  • Presentations by internationally recognized speakers from top universities and space agencies

  • Sessions on topics such as quantum space communications, non-terrestrial networks, EHF broadband, software-defined networking, sustainable satellite constellations, and more

  • Two new cross-panel keynote talks highlighting interdisciplinary advances in space technology

Whether you are a PhD student, Master’s student, early-career professional, or simply a space enthusiast, this Summer School is an opportunity to engage with the most visionary research and ideas in the field. All lectures will be recorded, and an online test will be available for those seeking academic credit.
