The IEEE AESS Innovation Competition on Low-Altitude Wireless Networks (LAWN) is proposed as an annual global competition under the technical coordination of the IEEE AESS TWG on LAWN. The competition will include two parallel categories: a Student-Led Track, intended to cultivate and recognize student-driven innovation, and an Open Track, intended to welcome broader participation from academia, industry, startups, and public research laboratories. The LAWN competition will combine concise written submissions, optional demonstration videos, expert judging, and a finalist presentation round. Projects will be evaluated on originality, technical merit, relevance to LAWN, practical validation, and societal or operational impact, with separate rubrics and awards for the two tracks. The competition is intended to strengthen the AESS LAWN community, increase student and chapter engagement, attract industry participation, and create a recurring platform connecting education, technical innovation, and future AESS activities.
