Vice President for Research at Universidad Nacional de Moquegua (UNAM). IEEE Senior Member. Electronic engineer from the Universidad Nacional San Antonio Abad del Cusco. Systems engineer from the Universidad Andina del Cusco. Received his M.Sc. Degree in industrial and human automatic, from the Université Paul Verlaine de Metz - France, and he received his Ph.D. Degree in image and signal processing from TELECOM ParisTech. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia.
His work experience includes research at the French Space Agency (CNES) and German Aerospace Center (DLR), university teaching (UNSAAC, UAC, UNI, UPCH, UCH and UNTELS), consulting engineer at CONIDA, SPECTRUM, EGEMSA, etc.
He participates as keynote speaker and jury of projects in various academic events. He has many international published papers. His areas of interest are Signal and image processing, biometrics, artificial intelligence, human automation, bioengineering, industrial automatic, control, and aerospace technology.
From June 2016 to December 2020, Dr. Roman-Gonzalez was the coordinator of the Image Processing Research Laboratory (INTI-Lab) at Universidad de Ciencias y Humanidades (UCH). In these more than four years, he has worked on developing different research projects. INTI-Lab has gone from 4 publications in 2016 to 45 publications in 2020 (despite the pandemic) during his tenure. In these four years, INTI-Lab has earned 8 Grants. Scientific dissemination has also been a recurring activity of INTI-Lab members, and they have had around 20 dissemination activities each year. INTI-Lab has significantly contributed to the growth of the scientific production of the UCH and to climb positions in the different rankings.
