Francesca Filippini was born in Rome in 1991. She received both her B.Sc. and M.Sc. (cum Laude) in Communication Engineering, from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, in November 2013 and May 2016, respectively. From January to May 2016, she has been working on her Master Thesis as an intern of the Department of Passive Radar and AntiJamming Techniques at Fraunhofer FHR in Wachtberg, Germany. Her final work was focused on the exploitation of polarimetric and frequency diversity in passive radar systems. In November 2016, she started her PhD in Radar and Remote Sensing at the Department of Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications at Sapienza, University of Rome, where she is currently in her second year. The central topic of her PhD research is the development of advanced signal processing techniques and methodologies for Passive Radar Systems. In May 2017, she received the Best Under 35 Presenter Award at the 2017 GTTI Workshop on Radar and Remote Sensing in Naples, Italy. In April 2018, she came second in the Student Paper Competition at the 2018 IEEE Radar Conference in Oklahoma City, USA.
