Term
A 1-year term with eligibility for reappointment for up to two consecutive terms.
Conditions of Eligibility
IEEE and AESS Member. Must be a current in-term member of the AESS Board of Governors (BoG) or previously served on the Board. Must be nominated and selected by the Board of Governors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Chair Technical Operations Committee
- Oversee the Technical Panels, ensure adherence to their charters, and provide recommendations for the establishment or dissolution of panels as needed.
- Oversee the Technical Panel of the Year Award including the committee members, solicitation of nominations, and selection of the winner(s).
- Coordinate with the Technical Panels the development of AESS-named tutorials and presentations to be delivered at AESS-sponsored conferences.
- Review and update website pages as needed.
- Prepare a report and attend the annual Officer Strategic Planning meeting and the AESS BoG meetings in the Spring and Fall.
Travel
Minimum 3 times per year
Travel expenses are reimbursed per the IEEE Expense Guidelines.
- January/February: Strategic Planning Meeting with Officers
- ~May: Spring Board of Governors Meeting
- ~September-November: Fall Board of Governors Meeting
