Conditions of Eligibility
Must be a current in-term member of the AESS Board of Governors (BoG) or previously served on the Board. Must be nominated and selected by the Board of Governors. Cannot have previously served as President or President-Elect.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assumes the responsibilities of the President at the request of or in the absence of the President.
  • Directs and coordinates the activities of the Standing Committees assigned to them by the President
  • Officer Strategic Planning Meeting (SPM): Serves as the chairman of the SPM. Develops the meeting agenda with assistance from the Operations Manager. Selects the locations for the Officer SPM.

Travel
Minimum 3 times per year
Travel expenses are reimbursed per the IEEE Expense Guidelines.

  • January/February: Strategic Planning Meeting with Officers
  • ~May: Spring Board of Governors Meeting
  • ~September-November: Fall Board of Governors Meeting
  • IEEE Meeting Series held in February, June, and November annually at the request of the President

Expected Meeting Attendance

  • Spring/Fall BoG Meetings (in-person)
  • Officer Strategic Planning Meeting (in-person)
  • Committee Meetings (virtual)
  • Monthly Executive Zoom with President, Past President, and Operations Manager (virtual)

Appointments

  • Serves as alternate TAB Board of Directors voting member
  • Serves as TAB Strategic Planning Committee - Corresponding Member
  • Not responsible for making any appointments
